JEWISH AWARENESS AMERICA

Jewish Awareness America (JAAM) is a nationally sponsored organization comprising a group of devoted and energetic leaders dedicated to the perpetuation of Jewish values and culture. JAAM's goal is to produce knowledgeable future Jewish leaders who will make personal, family, and communal decisions in light of Jewish teaching and tradition. Founded in 2002, JAAM has been providing a diversified program of educational services and cultural activities designed to reconnect Jewish college students with their rich heritage.

Through the development of these innovative, intriguing, and informative Jewish awareness programs on campuses throughout North America, we are able to bridge the gap created by the cessation of genuine Jewish education and awaken within students their sense of Jewish identity and pride.

JAAM is concerned about the dangerous tides of our fragile society. Ignorance is the enemy threatening the very existence of our Jewish Nation.

To make a significant impact on the future of the American Jewry, we target students who have the potential of becoming leaders of the up and coming generation. Once awakened, the student always has a natural thirst for Torah knowledge. These informed and passionate Jewish students act in leadership capacities on campus and in their communities after graduation.

JAAM established its first Maimonides Jewish Leaders Fellowship program on the Univeristy of Michigan campus in Ann Arbor, Michigan. To date, JAAM, with the help of the Heritage Retreats Foundation, has successfully duplicated this program on numerous additional campuses across North America.
